Thanks Rana,

I have read a fair bit of material in the literature. Most of this seems to give instruction for fitting a line for the Volumetric Soil Water against Count Ratio data. I have had conversations which suggest that a broken or bent line or a polynomial curve may also be appropriate but I can find little backing for this in the literature.
